Optimizada places to visit in los cabos for free

A vacation can be expensive: airfare, hotel, cabs, restaurants and dining out, tours, souvenirs, tips, etc. In the end, we always tend to spend more than we had planned. However, a good idea to not overspend would be to add some activities to your itinerary that have zero cost or cover. So, to make your planning easier, here are some activities and places to visit in Los Cabos for free.

As you know, many of the good things in life are priceless. Because of the privileged geographic location of Los Cabos, Mexico, there are many attractions and natural wonders that you can find when you venture out a little further from your hotel. Let's start by looking at places to visit in Cabo San Lucas.

Cabo San Lucas Marina

Whether you're just out for a stroll or looking for a place to eat or refresh yourself, the Cabo San Lucas Marina is a great place to hang out. There are several Instagrammable spots along the marina, like a panoramic picture of the marina, a selfie with the luxury yachts as the background or the must-have photo with the letters that say "I ❤️ Cabo". And if you’re wondering, “is Los Cabos safe?” Whether day or night, walking in this area of Los Cabos is safe.

Cerro de la Z

A short distance from the Cabo San Lucas marina is this hill, from the top of which you can see both the Sea of Cortez and the immensity of the Pacific Ocean. This hike to the top of Cerro de la Z is one of the things to do in Los Cabos for free. At a moderate pace, you can reach the top in 30 to 40 minutes. It is recommended to time your ascent and descent in daylight to avoid the risk of getting lost.

Cerro del Vigia

Another place to visit in Cabo San Lucas is Cerro del Vigia. This rocky hill is located on private property; fortunately, its owner, Enrique, offers guided hikes every day at 8:00 am, except Saturdays - Sunset hikes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:00 pm. We recommend you bring water, proper hiking shoes and, of course, a generous tip for Enrique.

The Arch of Cabo San Lucas

This natural formation carved in rocks is an iconic landmark in Cabo San Lucas. Its formation is due to erosion caused by ocean waves on a rocky hillside which evolved into an arch right at the tip of the rock formation known as "El Fin del Mundo" (The End of the World). You have to see it to believe it! The Arch of Cabo San Lucas is located right where the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean meet and it is only possible to get close to it by kayak, paddleboard or with fins and snorkel equipment. In addition to places to visit in Cabo San Lucas, there are other things to do in Los Cabos.

Beaches in Los Cabos

Of course, among the places to visit in Los Cabos for free are the beautiful beaches along its coastline. In addition to Playa del Amor, Playa El Divorcio and El Medano in Cabo San Lucas, there are others within a short distance that we recommend visiting. Playa El Chileno is known for its calm waves, Playa Santa Maria and Palmilla are ideal for swimming, while Playa Dorada and Playa Viudas are recommended for hiking with the Sea of Cortez as its backdrop.

San Jose del Cabo Art Walk

North of Cabo San Lucas is San Jose del Cabo, BCS, Mexico. This picturesque town is famous for its colorful facades and for its great gastronomic, recreational and cultural offerings. In addition to countless bars and restaurants, downtown San Jose is home to many art galleries and craft stores.

Every Thursday from November to June, the San Jose del Cabo Art Walk takes place. Art studios and galleries in the vicinity of Alvaro Obregon Street keep their doors open until 9:00 pm. During the event, establishments offer snacks, free drinks and, in some cases, live music. You can walk the streets with peace of mind, because just like Cabo San Lucas, you never have to worry and wonder, “is Los Cabo safe?” Because all of Los Cabos is safe.

Where is Los Cabos, Mexico?

It is located on the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. The entire stretch of coastline between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, BCS, Mexico is known as Los Cabos. Whether you stay in Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo or somewhere in between, all of these things to do in Los Cabos are within walking distance of each other.

Do one or do them all, but one thing is for sure, you’ll always find interesting things to do in Los Cabos.
